Conference Saturday

While all of the daddy's went to Priesthood Session, we went to visit the grandmas at the Alpine Center. Adi, Steph, Bianca, and Mom painted nails. The kids sang songs and read books. Joseph counted to 10 and amazed the grandmas with his puzzle skills.

We sang spanish primary songs for one grandma who was blind. And she actually KNEW how to sing "El Arroyito Da."

Alex got his workout for the day throwing up all of the nieces and nephews.

I just had to put these up here because it still makes me laugh. Eva would not give up on Alejandra. She was determined to show her how to do a cartwheel. But Markito kept showing up and doing perfect ones on purpose i think hahahaha.

Tita that was almost a perfect landing. You're a good sport...And Eva was a very patient teacher.

Village Run 5k Race

As fun as it was, my face said otherwise...so I'll only post the back shot

One of my best friends from high school and his wife (and my kids teacher at school) ran too. It was Melissa's first race, she did awesome!

Julie ran...and she was sick! She's the one that got me started doing these 5k's so I definitely have her to thank :)

Luke, Joseph, Cami and David ran in the kiddie 400 meter. The twins started out great and decided they wanted to make it about the journey not really the destination. At the very back in the video you can see them roaming the field and then Cami pulls David back onto the track to finish the race.

First day of spring and Alex could hardly wait to take the doors off the jeep! You guessed it, it is now topless and sleeveless :) "Live a little"...that's what I keep telling myself when I drive in it and my hair gets all messed up.

President's Day at Grandma Gigi's and Grandpa's house

I grew up in a VERY patriotic home. Even though my mother was born in Peru, she is as patriotic as the proudest American! I'm grateful that we memorized the Gettysburg Address, Preamble to the the Constitution, the Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, God Bless America, and of course the Pledge of Allegiance. My sisters and I even did the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge requirements with my little brother (even though he's the only one that got the badge!)

So although we've had many, MANY patriotic celebrations in the Turley home it was extra special this year to do on President's Day with all the grandkids. Some of us shared inspirational stories from past US Presidents, we sang our President's of the USA song, the Star Spangled Banner, Mom read to us the Gettysburg and expressed her gratitude for our Founding Fathers and the opportunity that she has had to raise a family in this country. We ended the night with a lesson on folding the American flag and a hoola-hoop competition. Nati beat us by a long shot :) She has lots of secret and creative talents, lol.
